Why am I receiving error messages in Outlook Express? (4.0)
Scanning large email messages and attachments can cause problems in ESET Smart Security 4.0 and ESETÂ NOD32 Antivirus 4.0 which may cause the message and attachments to become corrupted in Microsoft Outlook Express.

An update will be available soon to rectify the issue permanently. As a work-around, ESETÂ recommends turning off Offline Scan, especially in push installations on large networks.

Please follow the instructions below to switch off Offline Scan in your ESET security product:

NOTE: Email clients other than Outlook Express, such as Microsoft Outlook and Mozilla Thunderbird, are not affected.
- Open the main program window by clicking the ESET iconÂ
next to the system clock or by clicking Start →All Programs → ESET → ESET Smart Security or ESET NOD32 Antivirus.
 - Press the F5 key to open the Advanced Setup window.
 - Click Email client protection and then click Email clients.
 - Deselect the Read email check box and click OK to exit Advanced Setup.
